Michael Martinez will be Leland's Grand Master of Ceremonies at the upcoming 2008 Leland Blue & Gold auction.

Mr. Michael Martinez, has spent the last 20 years in the California Educational system, most recently in his second year at Leland High School as AP of Discipline. Prior to joining Leland, Michael was Principal for 6 years at Channel Islands High School in Ventura County.

Michael has a long standing roadmap of educational work and is a strong believer in "Be the Best you can be at a discipline, or get disciplined as a consequence". His professional experience also includes being Associate Principal at Roosevelt High School in Fresno for one year, and was responsible for the credentialing of ‘No Child Left Behind’ at the district level at Oxnard High School.

Michael is bilingual, was born in Germany where he lived for his first 5 years. He spoke German before learning English. From there, the family moved to Firebaugh, Ca. in the central valley of California near the San Joaquin River.

Michael has 3 children and one grandchild, is an accomplished saxophone player, and an avid rider of his 2007 Harley Road Glide.
